
ABOUT ME
Naomi Gwynn is a Canadian dance artist and choreographer based in Tiohtiá:ke / Montreal. Naomi has participated in numerous performances and showcased choreographic work across Ottawa, Montreal, Israel, and Europe. Naomi has showcased choreographic work at Gibney Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center, Bouge D’ici Dance Festival, Festival St-Ambroise Fringe de Montreal, MAI: Montreal Arts Interculturels, and the Festival de Danse Contemporaine Sherbrooke. In 2019 Naomi completed the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company’s International Dance Journey Program in Northern Israel, and in 2019-2020 she was a member of Cobos Mika’s Junior company in Palamos, Spain. In 2023 Naomi completed GibneyPRO under the direction of Alexandra Wells. She was a 2023 choreographic fellow and artist in residency with Danse à la Carte, and her work ‘SEVEN’ was awarded ‘Best Choreography’ after its premiere at the Montréal Fringe Festival in 2022. Naomi is a two time recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts Explore and Create grant for artists, and her work has received the support of the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec, the City of Ottawa, and the Jewish Museum of Montreal. Her formal dance training includes work with Rubberband Dance Group, Micaela Taylor, Margie Gillis, Laja Field, Julia Adam Dance, and Sidra Bell Dance New York.
